Salvation is My Wall

Today as you go for outdoor or door-to-door evangelism, you will meet with many people some will be welcoming but not all. From a few experiences, I have been able to ask some of them whether they are saved or not and many will say they are saved but do not go to church and prefer staying at home due to one or two reasons.

From such encounters, I have noticed many people referring to themselves as saved but in reality, their understanding of salvation is something else you would not want to sit down and listen to, some have funny weird stories which do not add up but summarizes them as acts of Salvation which may not be wrong but correct according to their own understanding.

Our understanding of salvation is the most fundamental aspect with respect to Christianity it casts direct and dramatic implications upon every aspect of our Christian lives. Since it is foundational, everything else will be aligned according to how it is placed, positioned, and understood.

Therefore, if our understanding of salvation is false or skewed or based on some weird stories, then the entirety of our faith will be disastrously based on a shaky foundation one that might fall or give way under any circumstance. But if our understanding of salvation is rightly established, then it will be a firm foundation whereby the rest of our Christianity can be built, accurately aligned, and increasingly reinforced.

What is Salvation? Is it a Place, a destination, a state of mind, or what? What does the Bible say about being saved? Salvation simply means to be saved or delivered, from the result of sin- eternal death. Salvation is possible through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Scripture emphasizes that Jesus is the cornerstone of our salvation and that salvation is found in no one else but in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:11-12, Eph. 2:20), the One of first importance (1 Cor. 15:3) by whom everything else is held together (Col 1:17). Thus, if we get Jesus wrong, we will without fail get salvation wrong.

Indeed, just as an Architect can't afford to misjudge the foundation of the structure, how much more can we not afford to do so with Jesus and our salvation, which is eternally significant? It is when we get it right that we are able to work on our salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12)

Lord, you're Welcomed!

When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming towards him, he said to Philip, 'Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?" (John 6:1-5)

In life many are the times we do things without involving God and expect a good outcome. it may be; starting a business, buying a new car, apartment, starting a relationship, etc.
And sometimes things may not work out as we expected and we end up complaining and blaming God to an extent of staying away from his presence like it was him who failed us.

We all know whatever God started he will always make a way through, which means there will be no struggle but even if there are a few challenges it will be there to teach us, 'this is the correct way to do this and not the other way. In the process, our faith and character will be built and, in the end, you will encourage someone that you prayed for something and God was faithful enough to do it.

In this case, we see Philip asked by Jesus 'where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?' And Philip answers correctly that it would take more than half a year's wages to buy enough bread for each one of them. But notice Jesus said where shall "we" he did not say "I" this means Jesus wants to be involved in our activities and affairs because without him 5Loaves + 2Fish = 7.

But with Jesus in the equation 5Loaves + 2Fish + Jesus = More than enough. There was this little boy who had loaves and fish. Why a little boy? Because Jesus wants you to give that little effort, that little strength, and, little faith and he is going to multiply.

Prayers for Today

Thank you, Lord, for connecting me to a family that loves you. Today I am encouraged. I will give that little encouragement to someone who needs it. I will make that little effort to read your Word and Pray every day consistently. In Jesus' name, I have prayed. Amen.

Why should I be Saved?

(Scripture Reference: Titus 2:11-14, 1 Timothy 2:4, Acts 17:30, 31)

Salvation: This comes from the Greek word "Soteria." It means "the work of Christ in restoring lost men to God." The word "salvation" entails an eternal, spiritual deliverance. When Paul told the Philippian jailer what he must do to be saved, he was referring to the jailer's eternal destiny (Acts 16:30-31). Jesus equated being saved with entering the kingdom of God (Matthew 19:24-25).

What are we saved from?

In the Christian doctrine of salvation, we are saved from "wrath," that is, from God's judgment of sin (Romans 5:9, 1 Thessalonians 5:9). Our sin has separated us from God, and the consequence of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Biblical salvation refers to our deliverance from the consequence of sin and therefore involves the removal of sin. Man is by nature totally depraved, guilty before God, and under the penalty of death. He needs to be saved! (Acts 26:18)

A Prayer for Salvation

Dear Lord Jesus, Thank you for dying on the cross for my sin. Please forgive me. Come into my life. I receive you as Lord and Savior. Now, help me to live for you the rest of my life. In the Name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Are you distracted?

But some troublemakers said, "How can this fellow save us?" They despised him and brought him no gifts. But Saul kept silent. (1 Samuel 10:27)

You got to keep Silent

After Saul was chosen to be the first King of Israel, some of the people were happy and congratulated him but when Saul went back home some of the people spoke of him with contempt and despised him. They said he did not have what it takes to be a King and they tried to push him down. Saul refused to waste his time with these small-minded people who did not value who he was or respect his talent and favor in his life. He simply chose to ignore them.

If you're going to reach your destiny you have to get good at ignoring negative comments, criticism, insults, and naysayers. They do not control your destiny; they are distractions to try to keep you from God's best instead of being upset over who's not for you and frustrated over who's trying to make you look bad, ignore them. Jealous people can't keep you from your destiny; small-minded people can't stop your purpose. That's not the battle you have to fight, let God vindicate you

A Prayer for Today

"Father, thank you that you are the Most High God, and You hold my destiny in your hands. Thank you for being my great defender when I come under personal criticism and attack, help me to ignore insignificant distractions that try to keep me from your best. In Jesus' name, Amen"

I am Blessed!

For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. (Psalms 30:5)

You have the Advantage

One definition of the word "favor" is an advantage for success. When you put God first, when you obey His commands, you open the door for His favor which means you and I have the advantage for success! Even if someone may have wronged you and it looks like they have an upper hand, even if it looks like things are never going to change keep reminding yourself, "I have an advantage, God is in control of my destiny. He is fighting my battles for me. He is my vindicator. And it's just a matter of time before things change in my favor."

In Hebrew, it says, "Do not cast away your confidence." one translation says "Payday is coming" In difficult times, you have to remind yourself that payday is on the way! God is a faithful God. if you'll keep doing the right thing, honoring Him, and expecting his favor, God promises that he will pay you back. He will restore everything in your life that the enemy has stolen. Remember you have the advantage today.

A Prayer for Today

"Father, thank you for your grace, mercy, and everlasting favor. I open my heart and mind to you and receive everything you have for me. Thank you for favor and healing in every area of my life in Jesus' name". Amen
