Recently, I have been having a lot of Topics in mind to share and each would want to come first but then I asked the Lord for directions and He gave it to me. The path was on Laying a solid foundation that would in turn help us in our daily walk with Christ. isn't that amazing!
As a Civil Engineering Technician, I have learned the basics of Foundation and its significance to a structure being built. Before a project starts there is a conception stage where the client describes the idea to an Architect. This includes the purpose of the building whether it is a Hospital, Mall, College Administration, Students Hostels, Rental Apartments, etc. The Architect then comes up with a sketch of the structure. For the project to start there has to be approvals from local authorities and finance to pay the contractor. This process enables the contractor to come up with a work schedule and sequentially the estimated project duration and cost from start to end.
The taller the structure the deeper it goes on its foundation. The foundation's purpose is to hold up and hold the structure above it. Contrary to everyday experience the ground is not quite still and, in many cases, not totally solid. A house just planked down on bare earth is more likely to be cracked or damaged over time by natural forces. A properly built foundation increases the abuse a house structure can take and remains safe for the people inside it.
It is important to know that you can replace the roof, window panes, doors, partitions, ceiling, and furniture anytime you want to but the foundation cannot be replaced. Therefore, it is really important to work on the foundation of your house well. The outside appearance of your house can be painted and named like the white house but if the foundation is not properly built it will not last, just a small whirlwind traveling miles per hour will bring it down and it will not feel good. That is why we need to build on a solid rock that's Jesus our firm foundation.

"Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew against that house, and it fell with a great crash." (Matt. 7:24-27)
Sometimes back there was a friend of mine who had cracks develop on the walls of his house and he would call a mason to fix the wall and paint it back to its original state after sometimes of rebuilding the walls, painting the wall, spending a lot of money the crack still appeared and this time widespread and he said to himself maybe the Mason he has been hiring does not have the skills to do the job so he hired another skilled Mason who came but this time he did not fix the wall but stared at it for a long time and finally said to him the problem is with the foundation.

If we do not fix the foundation, we will forever be fixing patches. And who would want to do that? It's like repeating the class every year and your friends would graduate and you will still be left behind. There can be personal, relationships and family cracks in our lives that do not require a genius to identify. No matter how great your house looks on the outside, if your foundation is shaky the rest of the house will be in trouble. You really have to build on the right foundation so you can live in peace and not be shaken.
In the scriptures above we have two men both having the same dream; they wanted to build a house. They were religious, they would listen to sermons and probably were the most active church members. They faced the same storm that is trials, predicaments, and difficulties, and whether you like it or not you will face one (John 16:33) it was like a hidden storm. something about the storm you cannot control. The contrast begins where one was wise and the other was foolish. In the Bible being wise has nothing to do with academic credentials but the ability and decision to apply spiritual truths in life reality and being a fool is vice versa as educated as you may be with the inability to apply spiritual truths in your daily life.
In the bible, a house can refer to a life worth living, a successful life, the American dream, etc. Both had a dream meaning A Wiseman and a fool can have dreams, they heard the word of God meaning a Wiseman and a foolish man can listen to the bible. The storm came meaning a Wiseman and a fool can experience troubles in life no one is an exception. Their only difference was on the foundation, one built his house on the rock and the other on the sand. They did not start in the same place; your foundation will always determine your future.
A foundation is where you start because it is essential. when building a house, you do not bring Iron sheets and window panes ready but you concentrate on the foundation and take time on it. When building on the rock, you will find out that it's quite expensive, the process is slow, and you will sweat but when building on sand it's quite easy you just need a spade to scoop out sand within hours you put up a structure meaning it is quite cheap, very easy in fact.
A lot of people want God on the cheap; just a little of Jesus not wanting to rest everything on him but a little. And this is where we go wrong God created everything and would want us to have him as our foundation to rest and lean on. Look at your life, did you choose the easy way out? way of man and not the way of God? we noticed the Wiseman acted on the word of God while the other did not. Your foundation is not purely tied to your information, your foundation is tied to your execution. That's why we should not be hearers only but doers of the Word.

Some people would want Sandy Rock kind of foundation but that contradicts the word of God which he would not allow. The storm reveals where our foundation is. It's until your world is shaken then we shall know you indeed built your house on solid rock. You cannot build something big on a shaky foundation and you cannot build a foundation on a storm. Check your life and redo the foundations and when we do that then we shall get it right.
